2011 - That's a wrap

Wow, Happy Birthday to me! What an amazing day to celebrate a birthday at the end of such a successful and fulfilling year! My photography business has taken me to places I've only dreamed of and I've met some new friends, networked with some well know companies/celebs , and worked with some pretty amazingly talented people along the way!

I got the chance to photograph gorgeous models in LA, Las Vegas, and in New York! I've had some amazing clients locally and around the country, who i'm completely grateful for! I've also had several fashion editorials published in magazines, some international. Also a small appearance on the reality show Curvy Girls featuring the lovely Rosie Mercado in NYC. If someone would have told me in 2010 that I would be doing all this in 2011, I would have probably have fainted. LOL. I guess dedication and hard work pays off. Of course I wouldn't have been able to do any of this if it wasn't for my support system! My Wonderful husband, my family and friends. Thank you!

Though I've had an amazing and busy year in 2011... I only want to grow and push harder for 2012! Starting off with a 2nd business, to be announced in early January! Keep on the look out for that and to many more successful photo shoots!

Thank you again to everyone who has been following my work throughout the years and the continued support! I'm forever grateful!!!!!!!

A New York Minute Pt.2

While I was in NYC this June I was lucky enough to catch the Alexander McQueen "Savage Beauty" exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Can you say perfect timing?

I was familiar with the work he has done for Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and his monster like shoe designs... But the things I've seen on TV and the Magazines did no justice for the master pieces he created!!!! The wait was about 1 1/2 hours to get into the exhibition and took me a little bit over 1 hour to walk through the entire show. Walking into the exhibition started off with McQueen's earlier work and slowly progressed into his latest work. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take photographs or video. So I carefully studied every single piece of his work and took mental photographs. The quality was nothing like I've ever seen before, the idea's were one of a kind, the materials incorporated with the fabrics were unthinkable!

Everything in the exhibition was impressive! From the Lighting, to the music, to the blowing fans, to the written quotes, to the masked mannequins! All very surreal! I couldn't have been anywhere else in New York and felt more inspired! It was truly a magnificent show! And I've become a huge fan of the late McQueen! May he rest in peace and his master pieces continue to inspire!

Please keep a look out for Pt. 3 of my New York Minute Blog, that will feature some of the images I shot for my NYC model portfolio session.

Hope you enjoy!

Michelle :D

* Again, since we weren't allowed to take pictures here are some from the Met's website, and some images I took around in the lobby and outside of the MET. The show will be up until August 7th, so if your going to be in NYC you need to go! :)

This was one of my favorite pieces! Ostrich feathers dyed red and microscope slides painted red, made to look like blood inside.

Here are some of the images I got to take before and after going into the Museum. Look at the amazing stair case! I would love to do a photo shoot there! :)

A New York Minute Pt.1

Heyyy!!! So I haven't updated my photo blog all Summer because I've been keeping myself super busy!!! So now I have a lot of blogging to do! :p

One of the cool things I got to do this Summer was take a trip out to NYC in June during Full Figured Fashion Week, with Rosie Mercado and Tina Sanchez. I had a great opportunity to photograph Rosie for the Cover of Daily Venus Diva Magazine. We shot on location near Time Square while reality TV cameras were rolling. Rosie stopped traffic, we had crowds of people watching, my adrenaline was pumping and I loved every single minute of it! With the limited amount of time we had to shoot, I got some great shots of Rosie! I always love working with Rosie and I'm extremely happy for her and all of her upcoming success!
If you want to know more about Rosie Mercado, Just Google her name! Like that! BAM! lol.

Busy 2011

Wow! I really can't complain on how busy I've been with my work! This year so far has definitely been one of the busier years for my photography career! At the end of 2010 I signed on with Moxie Management and they've been treating me very well! I've taken on a lot of new projects locally, throughout the state, and Country. I've also had the opportunity to meet and network with some amazing people in the fashion and photography industry!

One of my recent projects was in Las Vegas where Tina Sanchez, Rosie Mercado and I collaborated together to offer a Model Portfolio packages during the time of the Curvy Revolution. We had such an amazing turnout of models (Plus & straight sizes) coming in from all over the States. I had such an amazing time collaborating with an awesome team and photographing lovely models! As of right now we will be collaborating in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and San Diego for the rest of 2011. And in between those dates I have numerous projects to announce, so keep on the look out for those updates!
